New loves

The discovery of two specific websites have made my life so much more exciting and have kept me glued to the computer screen every second I am free.

1. My first love - Pinterest
Ahhhhmazing! Pinterest is an online pinboard which people upload pictures and you can create your own boards for inspiration or recipes or anything that matters! You do have to request an invite but it doesn't take long to get in, but once you do it's worth it!

Follow me: lyssdoggg

A few favourites I picked up via Pinterest.

2. Lover number two - Favim
Similar to Pinterest, Favim is a collection of random beautiful and inspiring photos. You can sign up and make your own folder to save your favourites in. Some of the photography is just stunning. It also has some adorable quotes and funny pics too.

Take a look!

As if these sites wouldn't keep me occupied for long enough, there are two little obsessions I have at the moment.

Firstly, I have caught the Hunger Games bug. Yep, didn't think I would be one of those but here we go with another book obsession. If you haven't read the books YOU ARE AN IDIOT PUT EVERYTHING DOWN AND READ THEM NOW! They will change your life! So the books are amazing but the movie isn't half bad when you check out these hotties in it! If the story didn't get you already, then these certainly should.

And now you will also see that I have a little superhero fetish.

The Avengers movie was phenomenal, I have seen it twice at the movies already and thought it was just fantastic. Do it. See it now.

Yes I am a little bit in love with the Hemsworth brothers.

So really, so little time, so much to explore and daydream about. Get amongst it :)

Sparkles

For a few months now, I have had an obsession with sparkly nails. There are many glitter nail polishes now out on the market, my favourite being a chi chi one my friend bought not long ago. What I prefer though for a more intense effect is to use craft glitter on my nails. On several occasions I have covered all or just two of my fingernails in glitter and they look brilliant in the light.

My first attempt I went with one silver glitter nail on each hand and painted the rest dark purple. It stood out nice and sparkly bright and was so easy to do.

I bought a pack of six coloured glitters at my local craft shop as that way I can try out so many different colours! I painted four out of my five nails with dark purple 'Rimmel 60 Seconds' nailpolish and painted clear nailpolish on my remaining nail. After this (with plenty of newspaper down) I tapped on some glitter, shook off the loose bits and waited 5 minutes for it to set. After this I just dropped some clear nailpolish on top, and spread it carefully without glittering my brush.

These are my Australia Day nails. I went a bit more out there this time and did all my nails in full glitter!

Even attempting the Southern Cross on my thumb nail.

What do you think?! xx

Looking back

luv lou kimono, supre singlet, dont ask amanda shorts, glassons belt and shoes, cambridge satchel company fluro satchel

This outfit contains some of the favourite pieces I own. These dont ask amanda shorts I bought in Melbourne last year and they have been my go to pair ever since. They are cut so nicely as to make my legs not look like total sausages when I wear them and have this beautiful lace texture which makes them a little bit different. My high heel chunky loafers I love to death. Unfortunately I fell in love with them but they only had a size up. Silly me bought them anyway and put infills inside them but it didn't make a difference so now I can only wear them out when there's not too much walking to do.

My lovely precious cambridge satchel has featured heavily before but how can I not? It is so beautiful and makes any outfit pop.

Tonight is a freezing cold night so instead of wearing something nice and flowy like this, I'm confined to jeans, boots and a big jacket. Off to dinner and a movie now because it's pretty much too cold to do anything else!

Absence

After a few months of feeling lost and confused, and very unenthused, I am hopefully going to put some work into the blog. This is a spur of the moment post and I'm sure many more will follow but it has taken sometime to clear my head and take sometime for myself to actually think. Thinking has not been my strong point lately, instead of staying home and reading a book, watching a movie or looking after my blog, I have preferred to go out ALLLLLLL the time, always having someone by my side so that I don't have to think. Many reasons could be behind this but what matters now is that I will let myself daydream if I want to, spend a whole day doing whatever I want to do.

So here's what's been going on lately.

Cocktail night with the girls. We went to Ruby Rabbit on Oxford Street and got delicious tapas and cocktails.

Slight Spice Girls flashbacks and re-enactments were the result of too many yummy cocktails.

Drinking in style.

Rocked out at Future Music Festival to the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Knife Party, Fatboy Slim and so on.

Had waaaaaay too much to drink in our St Patrick's Day getup.

Continued to party party party for months on end until I could party party party no more.

Keep tuned for the new hair colour, I think change is on its way.

supre singlet, glassons skirt, dotti belt, socks from local shops, lipstik shoes, lovisa necklace, olga berg clutch.

After an extended period away from the blog I decided that I should try out the frilly socks, take some shots on the train on the way out and put them up. What do you think?

Even though by the time I had come home I had lost both my frilly socks and shoes, I think the outfit went alright for a night out. Conveniently the socks added some extra comfort to some otherwise painful by the end of the night high heels.

Keep watching for my next take on frilly socks next weekend!

Pics are only up about a month late from Homebake Music Festival 2011. There were some great acts this year including Aussie hip-hop artist 360, and band Eskimo Joe which I had the pleasure of meeting!

The daisy chain I wore on my head for the day was a hit at the festival and when we continued into the city afterwards. All in all, a wonderful day. Can't wait for next year xx
