Market part 2

Everything in the fruit and veg section looked so yummy! On the day we arrived I stopped and got 3 huge mangoes for $4! They tasted so good and there was so much I would have brought home if I could. Even one of these cacti...so cute!

Off to dinner with the girls tomorrow night, going to try a new mexican place so pics on that tomorrow. xx

To market to market.

So if anyone ever goes to Melbourne make sure you visit the Queen Vic Market! Here is just a few things I found, I ended up buying a few Christmas presents to bring back.

One thing I severely regret is not getting this leather satchel! It is sooooooo pretty and I have a little obsession with satchels at the moment seeing as I'm waiting for my fluro orange cambridge satchel in the mail now. And those skull salt and pepper shakers that I saw in a shop window on my way to the markets...ahhh dream on.

The streets of Fitzroy and Melbourne Cup day

Melbourne Cup outfit: glassons dress, lipstik shoes, fascinator and pearls c/o myer, diva ring.

From the top: not too happy about shopping time, a couple of my favourite shops, old pubs and pretty stationery, decorative buildings and seating, graffiti, vintage bicycles and tin cows. The last three photos are from Melbourne Cup - my outfit (looking a bit grumpy as my fascinator broke and I had to improvise putting it back together with a safety pin and two stud earrings!) the crowd at race time, the winning horses.

I had an absolute ball walking down Brunswick Street, it has the most gorgeous vintage shops and I spent a bomb! So many pretty things to look at and even the old buildings and the vintage bikes that were all over the place. I would love to own one and ride around the city looking all indie chick with a straw hat and cute basket on the front of the handles. Ahh a girl can dream.

Anyway on to Melbourne Cup - the whole point of the holiday...it was awesome! Already planning my trip back for next year. If I am smart though, I will wear flats with my outfit and take my proper camera to take proper shots and people's outfits. Might need to make a note of that because I'm sure I'll convince myself that I will be able to cope in heels, when clearly I won't.

It was very hard going back to work today but looking back over my pics now, I remember the fantastic holiday I just had and it isn't so bad. Last holiday memories will go up tomorrow, I have some nice shots of the Queen Victoria Markets which I highly recommend you visit if you ever go to Melbourne.

Off to bed now as I'm falling asleep at my keyboard. Sleep well xx

Melbourne Part 1

Just the start of our Melbourne trip last week, our room and views were lovely. We stayed at the Central Sky Lounge Apartment Hotel which is at the top of the city right near the Queen Victoria Market (pics on that soon!). The location was fabulous and reasonably priced and everything was walking distance. I am a big fan of trams, they are pretty much a combination of a bus and train so I don't know why I found them so exciting.

Pics of Cup day, shopping and market to come! xx

Change

"Life is too short to be anything but happy."

I usually like change. In most instances, change excites me. I love new things, new experiences, anything different. Until yesterday. I don't like the new change in my life but it is something that I have acted on out of being unhappy. It was my decision for change but it was not something I wanted in particular. An unfortunate turn of events was the result of this change and now I feel very unsure about everything in my life. Where do I go from here? Did I make the right decision?

As painful as it will be for me, everything happens for a reason and there are lessons to be learned. This is what I have to remember when I feel like turning back and giving in. Does it always work out for the best or is this the biggest mistake I could have made?
Has your change had a happy ending?

Mad Hatter's tea party

blazer, vest, watch and teapot all op shop finds. bow tie from $2 shop, rubi wedges, homemade hat, rings from collette.

Had a fantastic night at Em's 21st last Friday night, always fun to dress up. Been out of action for a week as I have been in Melbourne for Melbourne Cup  and a bit of a holiday. Unfortunately I had too much hand luggage as it was to bring along my laptop so I had to leave it at home and now that all photos are sorted out they will be up over the next few days.

Bit of a scary looking costume for me hey?
