Chalking

I discovered hair chalking from a work friend of mine a few months back who put me on to a product called 'Kevin Murphy: Color Bug". I did some research and watched some youtube videos and it seemed too good to be true, but when I tried it out it really was as easy as it said.

Kevin Murphy Color Bug in pink & purple

For my first go, I decided to do my tips - pink fading into purple.

Pretty much you just put special product in your hair (I just used hairspray) so the chalk sticks, then rub the bugs down your hair and it colours. I started on the ends with purple and did pink above it next.

Note: put a towel over your shoulders while doing this as the chalk does spill slightly.

As you can see it does stain your hand but is water soluble so comes off very easily.

Didn't get the best after shot of the hair but it was quite bright. It was hard to get the back even because I couldn't see and did it all by feel but I was happy with the end result.

For darker hair there is special products you can buy so that the colour stands out but I recommend to anyone planning on chalking their hair to watch the youtube videos first for tips and proper instruction!

Next chalking experience I'll be trying something like this with a friends help:

Until then :) xx

lita lita lita.

jeffrey campbell "lita" black distressed leather via Solestruck

Ahh aren't they beautiful? I have been saving so long for a pair of these and couldn't decide between the black leather or the beige colour but thought for my firsts I'll get the black. Couldn't be happier, they fit like a glove and are extremely comfortable.

Looking forward to wearing them out on the weekend and even more so to get my next pair. So many to choose from but how can I say no?

Pop

charlie brown coat, target work pants, rubi beret, brogues from a little shop in melbourne, cambridge satchel company satchel.

I took my satchel to work today and I decided to really make it POP. I wore completely black and against my outfit you almost needed sunglasses it was so bright. My beautiful bright satchel inserted some joy into such a gloomy day in Sydney. It hasn't stopped raining all week and apparently it doesn't plan on stopping for the weekend. So on that note...

New in: GUMBOOTS!

mid-calf black gumboots: spend less shoes.

These babies will do me just fine on Saturday at Stereosonic since it is going to be sloppy and wet and my festival Converse will not suffice! Been on the search for gumboots since the start of the week and since they are out of season but the lovely Hannah rang around today and found some! They are boring black but I'm not complaining especially as Hannah took even more initiative and bought us emergency ponchos! Lifesaver.

Tickets are still on sale from the website or just have a look on facebook, it seems everyone is scared of the rain so they have decided to sell their tickets! xx

New in: Cambridge Satchel

Yes Christmas has come early. For me anyway, my beautiful baby arrived the other day in it's own Santa sack.
Unfortunately for my bank account, it is not the only handbag I have purchased pre-xmas because there is so many gorgeous ones out there it would be unfair not to buy them too. My excuse for my Cambridge Satchel is that the satchel is a classic, except maybe for the colour.

My new favourite will be featuring heavily I'm sure in outfit posts to come. At least I have something to brighten up this gloomy weather in Sydney at the moment. I hope it clears by Saturday for Stereosonic Festival! More on that to come...xx

Sheer on sheer

portmans skirt, supre sheer top and singlet underneath, glassons blazer, novo boots, kaboodle designs necklace.

Now I'm not really one for wearing lots of black and dark colours, but when it is different textures it doesn't seem so boring to me. I tried this sheer on sheer combo and I felt so comfortable and light. As you can tell, I had a bit of fun with the flowy skirt (you should see some of the other photos). I was so excited to find this skirt a while back with the knife pleats in it and loved the colour but what I didn't think about at the time (all I was thinking about was how pretty it was), what am I going to wear with it? Anyway as you can see above I decided sheer on sheer was a bit more interesting especially teamed with my new clock necklace from Kaboodle Designs. Pretty right? xx

Newbies.

shoes from wanted shoes, portmans skirt.

Went to DFO today in my lunch break and surprise surprise...I bought some stuff. I have been on the look out for some plain black pumps just for work, you would be surprised in a shoe collection as large as mine that I don't own too many plain styles or black shoes. So this was my excuse when I saw these today, they were on sale for $50 at Wanted shoes which I thought was a bargain! As for the skirt, it looks as though I am a little bit in love with maxi skirts this season and I have been searching for a skirt, whether midi, short or maxi with knife pleats that actually looks good on me....and I've found it.
Guess what...it was on sale! There's one way to sweeten the deal.
